PIERRE DE SEL
Salt, ink, variable dimensions, 2016, exhibition view, Apollonia 2025
Several works from the Pierres de sel series have been acquired by the Mucem for its collection.
Sculpted by the repeated action of the animal's tongue, the salt stones slowly transform into abstract shapes. On their surface, inscriptions linked to the history of slavery appear as persistent traces, where the gesture of life and the memory inscribed in the material coexist.
