Ce projet s’appuie sur une résidence menée à Dakar, dans le quartier de Soumbédioune (Gueule Tapée), et sur des recherches aux Archives nationales du Sénégal et à l’IFAN.
Les documents étudiés mettent en évidence les transformations des réseaux d’échanges africains sous l’effet des économies coloniales, ainsi que la persistance de structures liées à l’esclavage. Dakar prolonge ici une recherche initiée au Maroc, en élargissant la réflexion aux circulations transsahariennes et à leurs reconfigurations.
Le travail se déploie à travers des sérigraphies et des dispositifs installatifs, proposant une lecture fragmentaire, attentive aux traces, aux silences et aux formes de transmission.
This project is based on a residency conducted in Dakar, in the Soumbédioune district (Gueule Tapée), and on research carried out at the National Archives of Senegal and IFAN.
The documents studied highlight the transformations of African trade networks under the impact of colonial economies, as well as the persistence of structures linked to slavery. Dakar extends a research initiated in Morocco, broadening the reflection to trans-Saharan circulations and their reconfigurationsç.
The work unfolds through screen prints and installation-based forms, proposing a fragmented reading attentive to traces, silences, and modes of transmission.
